DJs,
gather here small small. We need to talk about the art and how we can keep improving the way we play and serve the party pipo.

I’ve observed a few things I think we need to work on as DJs.

First, Trends. We all see how toneplay, wordplay and creative transitions are becoming a big thing. But the secret is in the timing. These tricks sound best when they’re well synced, clean enough for the crowd to enjoy without losing the flow of the music. Sometimes, the best transition is the one people feel more than they notice. U get it…

Take time outside your playing hours to practise, research and master your timing. Learn your songs, understand the keys and find combinations that work.
And for the copycats, if you’re going to borrow an idea, do it properly. Better yet, add your own sauce and make it even better than the original. That’s how we grow.

Secondly, the early crowd and music selection. You can’t expect people to throw em hands in the air when they’ve just arrived and are still settling in. Every stage of the night has its own energy, and that’s standard

As an opening DJ, your job is to set the mood, build gradually and leave the next DJ with something to work with. We’re all part of one experience, so let’s stop playing like we’re competing against each other. Read the room and give the crowd what the moment needs.

Lastly to the our dear Nightlife hosts. “my mugaga wants Congolese music, play him two songs now now because he’s spending big” 🙄
We appreciate you inviting your big ballers to the party, and we respect the business side of things. But let’s also be honest. Most ballers want to enjoy themselves where the party is already happening, where the energy is right and the crowd is active. So let’s find a way to accommodate them without killing the vibe for everyone else.

The Dorime bells.
We’ve talked about this over and over. Can we find a better, more creative way to celebrate the big spenders while keeping the music playing,
Coz mehn, you know how hard it is to regain the same energy after stopping the music for a baller moment.
We need to find a balance between entertaining the big spenders and keeping the entire party engaged.

We’re all in this together.
Let’s make the art of deejaying better for ourselves, and, most importantly, for the pipo who come out to enjoy the music.

10th OCT. LONDON AGAIN 🇺🇬

[djslickstuart @djSlickStuart]

There’s money in everything, bro. Even in fields where people have failed to make it, you can come in, do it differently, conquer it and make big money.
You just need some lil discipline, consistency and faith. That’s really it.

@djSlickStuart Forever for life Bijou chery 💐💐❤️❤️🙏✨️

May the almighty give her everything 🙏 thank you for appreciating this amazing woman 🙏🙏🙏

[djslickstuart @djSlickStuart]

Just came to realize how much this lady has given to the industry. She’s been very instrumental and truly an icon in the Uganda Entertainment industry.

She has been part of the journey of many of today’s Biggest names on the land. A lot of pipo in this industry have crossed paths with her, learned from her, or benefited from the work she has done.

Well deserved 💐🤍
If you don’t know her, ask someone next to you.

Echo her name …

Thank you for the impact you’ve made on this industry and for everything you’ve contributed to the scene we’re enjoying today.

[djslickstuart @djSlickStuart]

It’s hard to explain, but I think it starts with loving the job. You have to genuinely love what you do. Then it’s about what you’re serving and believing in what you’re giving the crowd.

If you’re not feeling what you’re playing, the crowd will feel it too. But when you’re genuinely enjoying yourself, they catch that energy and give it right back. That connection between the DJ and the crowd is what makes this job awesome.

But why does a DJ immediately start shaking his or her head when they start playing music? Any magic there @DjAludah @deejaybugy @championdj11 @RealDjLennon1 @djSlickStuart

[djslickstuart @djSlickStuart]

@djtrizzyvybz @JSelectorJay Bless up champ 🤝

[TRIZZY VYBZ 🦅 @djtrizzyvybz]

Random message to the younger TRIZZYs out there: being someone’s favorite DJ isn’t just about how well you play music. Your personality, discipline and how you make people feel matter too.

@djSlickStuart & @JSelectorJay are stars, but you’d never feel it from their attitude. Still humble, reserved, welcoming, disciplined and easy to approach. That’s a different kind of star power. 🫡🔥..
