@DorsetGirl1 The brakes need to have the same performance either side. Otherwise you'll end up with the car lurching to the weaker side and possibly spinning under heavy braking. You'll often change tyres on both sides for the same reason. Although uneven brakes is an MOT fail, tyres are not.
