BREAKING: John Drake Jr.’s mother, Veleria East, confirms the death of her son. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot. TBI has been searching for John Drake Jr. since Saturday after he shot two officers in La Vergne. Drake Jr. is the estranged son of Metro PD Chief John Drake.

Wilson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at a home on Linwood Rd. Deputies say when they arrived they saw a man with a weapon, they asked him to put it down and he didn’t. That’s when shots were fired. The TBI is currently investigating this shooting @WSMV
