From the news, we found out that Imran Khan was taken to PIMS again in the middle of the night, supposedly for his second injection in the eye.

When the law requires that family be informed before any medical procedure is conducted on a prisoner, why was the family not informed?

We do not trust the diagnosis or test reports from Government medical facilities. There are already reports coming from PIMS that the doctors are being threatened with serious consequences if any information is leaked about Imran Khan.

What are they Hiding?

Our family rejects their reports even if they issue these doctored reports to the public. We stand by our demand that Imran Khan be examined and treated in Shifa International (Islamabad) by specialists, under the supervision of Imran Khan’s personal doctors and in the presence of his family.

PIMS (Govt Hospital) is not equipped to treat anyone for the alleged condition that has developed in Imran Khan’s eye.

It is criminal what this Government is doing, and they will be held accountable for each and every violation and crime they are committing against Imran Khan.

It is critical and urgent that Imran Khan be examined and treated at a proper medical facility. Our recommendations to CJP clearly demanded that he be examined and treated at Shifa International Hospital (Islamabad) by specialist doctors, under the supervision of his personal physicians and in the presence of his family members. It is extremely unfortunate that Chief Justice Yahya Afridi expressed satisfaction with the doctors’ visit to Adiala Jail and completely disregarded the family’s lawful and legitimate demands.

What are they hiding?

The extraordinary effort by the government and establishment to prevent Imran Khan from being properly examined, tested, and treated in a reputable tertiary care hospital, under the supervision of his own doctors and in the presence of his family, raises serious questions. Government ministers have falsely claimed that his treatment was delayed because the family insisted on their presence along with his personal doctors. This was not a delaying tactic; it was a necessary safeguard to ensure transparency, proper care, and his safety. The additional doctor who accompanied the PIMS doctor to Adiala Jail was sent ONLY for examination, not treatment. What kind of comprehensive examinations can be conducted inside a jail facility, which lacks the equipment, environment, and safeguards of a proper hospital?

The PIMS doctors, along with a specialist from Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, were sent to Adiala Jail on Monday, 16th February, to show compliance with the deadline set by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi. However, on Tuesday, 17th February, Imran Khan conveyed a message through Bushra Bibi via her daughter, clearly stating that he was NOT satisfied with the doctors’ visit or the treatment being provided, and he specifically asked that his blood tests should be conducted in the presence of his personal doctors, Dr. Asim and Dr. Faisal. We REJECT any medical reports drawn up as a result of examinations conducted in the absence of Imran Khan’s personal physicians and family member. URGENCY IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.

Our demand has been clear from the beginning: Imran Khan has to be examined and treated by specialist doctors in the presence of his personal doctor (Dr. Asim Yousaf) along with a family member present at Shifa International in Islamabad.

The Govt rejected the specialist recommended by our doctors, so they were provided with alternative names. We had given Dr. Uzma Khan’s name to represent our family. We were told that Imran Khan’s sisters will not be permitted and we must provide an alternative name to represent the family. We then gave them our cousin Dr. Nausherwan Burki’s name to represent the family. We are very disturbed when they rejected his name as well.

This is unacceptable! Our concerns are growing as to WHY are they rejecting our family member to be present? Are both names (Dr. Uzma and Dr. Nausherwan) being rejected because they are highly qualified doctors?

Now the government is deliberately refusing to process our visas. Denying a prisoner treatment is cruel. Denying his children the right to see him is collective punishment. I call on international human rights organisations and governments to speak out and act before irreversible harm is done.

Health Is Not a Political Weapon

The reports of Imran Khan suffering from Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO) are deeply alarming and demand immediate, transparent, and uninterrupted medical intervention.

CRVO is not a minor eye problem. It is a vision-threatening ophthalmologic emergency. If not treated promptly and adequately, it can lead to neovascular glaucoma within 90 days, resulting in severe, irreversible vision loss or permanent blindness—often refractory to both medical and surgical treatment.

Standard, evidence-based management of CRVO requires urgent and repeated intravitreal anti-VEGF injections (such as Bevacizumab or Aflibercept), along with comprehensive diagnostic work-up, including fluorescein angiography and CT angiography of retinal vessels. This is not a one-time injection; it is a continuing course of specialized care that must be monitored closely by qualified ophthalmologists.
It is the same intra-ocular injection about which journalist Asadullah Khan @asadullahkhan_ revealed that as per his sources, Imran Khan was brought to PIMS on night between Saturday and Sunday, and was given an injection into the left eye. As per the news, the doctors suggested surgical management that points towards the fact that the condition might have already been complicated by Neovascularization Glaucoma requiring surgical intervention, which if delayed, can cause permanent visual loss.

I am writing this account to highlight that denial, delay, or inadequacy of treatment in CRVO can permanently blind a patient. This is not speculation. This is established medical fact.

A former Prime Minister of Pakistan and indeed any Pakistani citizen has an absolute constitutional and moral right to appropriate medical care. This right does not disappear in custody, and it must never be weaponized for political vendettas or personal grudges.

The PTI leadership must raise this issue forcefully in Parliament, in the courts, and at every national and international forum. Immediate access to Imran Khan’s personal physicians must be arranged, and the superior judiciary must intervene to ensure that his medical care meets accepted clinical standards, including treatment at a fully equipped tertiary facility if required.

A man who arranged cancer treatment for countless Pakistanis does not deserve medical neglect, silent punishment, or revenge through denial of care.

This is not about politics.
This is about basic humanity, medical ethics, and fundamental rights.

Health is not a Political weapon. Period.

My father, Imran Khan, has now spent over 900 days in a death cell with no family visits and no access to his personal doctors. Credible reports confirm he has been diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion, a dangerous blockage that can lead to permanent vision loss if not treated through urgent medical intervention in a proper hospital.

Yet authorities continue to block his treatment and deny him the doctors he trusts. I am even denied the right to speak to him. This is not governance. This is authoritarian cruelty.

I call on every defender of human rights to act before it is too late. The world must see that in Pakistan today, democracy is hollow and basic human rights are being crushed.
