🇩🇪 The 38-year-old German has been overseeing pre-season preparations in Spain since the weekend.
🔜 #NUFC had to wait to announce the deal at the request of the club he’s left, Al Ahli, who have been looking for a replacement.
💰 Newcastle have agreed to pay Al Ahli £9.5m in compensation for his services.
✍🏼 Jaissle has signed a 4-year deal and his first match in charge will be against Valencia in Spain on Saturday.

❌ Newcastle did NOT want to sell, and were desperate to keep Bruno Guimarães. If Bruno had said he wanted to stay, Newcastle would have refused ANY offer from Arsenal or any other club. 

🏆 Attempts to persuade him otherwise and positive conversations were held, but Bruno was insistent he wanted to leave because he felt this was his last big opportunity to win titles. 

💰 The deal could only happen if two things happed: Bruno said he wanted to leave (which he has respectfully) and Newcastle sold on their terms, similar to Tonali & Gordon. 

💸 Newcastle insisted it was their valuation, or no deal; they would only deal at a fee which would become one of the highest ever paid in the world for a 28+ year old. 

🤝 In addition, a deal would only be sanctioned if the situation was handled properly (eg. attended training camp in Spain). 
Newcastle feel Bruno has complied with their demands immaculately. They did not want a repeat of the Isak situation where he refused to train.  

🤨Agents were in between the clubs from the out set but Newcastle refused all pushes, which had began with mentions of £40-£45m in June. 

🤷🏽‍♂️ Arsenal elongated the transfer by refusing to contact Newcastle for weeks - which Newcastle found bizarre. 

👍🏽 Newcastle insisted there have been no fall outs and good relations remain between player and club.

Bruno Guimaraes is a fine midfielder technically, exceptional in possession under pressure, but he’s so much more, he’s an energiser, a leader, a warrior, a chaser of lost balls and lost causes. The charismatic Brazilian will be a huge loss to Newcastle United tactically, technically and also emotionally.

His departure will hurt more than Sandro Tonali’s or Anthony Gordon’s. Guimaraes “got” Newcastle, understood the fans, loved their passion, and enjoyed a special city. But from the moment he reflected on his ambitions at 28, how they could best be met, and signalled his desire to move on respectfully, the die was cast, it was all about the size and timing of the deal.

Newcastle are absolutely right to hold out for an acceptable bid from Arsenal that reflects Guimaraes’ importance to them on and off the field. And that, in modern transfer parlance, begins with an 8 not a 7. In the current frenzied market, with two years left on a contract, and Tonali trading for £92m (albeit two years younger), Guimaraes is an £80m player (75+5).

He strengthens Arsenal further. As they face a long campaign on two fronts, Premier League and Champions League, plus the two cups, Arsenal need the dynamism of Guimaraes. He can play 6 or 8 (prefers 8). Arsenal defenders will appreciate his tenacious work in front of them. Their attackers will feed off his line-breaking passes. Their fans will love his commitment and technical quality.

He’ll dovetail well with Declan Rice, bringing even more power to the champions’ engine room. What it means to Martin Zubimendi, the versatile Mikel Merino and also to Myles Lewis-Skelly’s development is a debate, of course. His arrival would allow Mikel Arteta to ease Rice’s huge workload. If the deal does go through, Guimaraes is a signing that strengthens the belief that Arsenal will retain the title. #AFC #NUFC

Bruno Guimarães will leave Newcastle United as their greatest-ever central midfielder and the best player overall during the PIF era. Wore his heart on his sleeve throughout, fought every challenge, and clearly loved the club to its core. A formidable captain.

Yes his departure to Arsenal is a bit messy, but seldom are they ever seamless. It’s an understandable move for him, given how long he’s been at SJP, his ability, and age.

Around £80m-£90m is a great deal, relatively speaking, for both parties. Arteta will have secured a player who walks into #AFC’s starting XI and automatically gives them a massive boost in clinching the title again. I imagine #NUFC are already progressing well with his replacement.

🚨 Newcastle United have an agreement in principle with Braga for goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek. 
💰 Newcastle have agreed to activate his £25.7m (€30m) release clause, and are now discussing payment terms with the Portuguese club. 
🇨🇿 The 24-year-old Czech has been given permission to travel for a medical, once the two clubs tie up the loose ends of a deal. 
✍🏼 He will become their fifth signing of the summer, taking the spending to around £140m
🙃 #NUFC understandably cautious until they can get the deal over the line.

🚨 🛩️ Newcastle are hopeful new boss Matthias Jaissle will arrive in Spain tomorrow to meet his new players on their pre-season training camp. 
🇩🇪 The 38-year-old is close to being appointed by Newcastle, with Eddie Howe leaving after nearly five years. 
Howe's backroom staff are also leaving Newcastle United. 
⚽️ Assistant Jason Tindall, and coaches Stephen Purchess and Simon Weatherston are amongst those leaving alongside Howe. 
⚫️ We also understand that Graeme Jones, who was employed by the club before Howe's arrival in 2021, is also set to leave.

🚨 💣 EDDIE HOWE BOMBSHELL — more details:

⚫️ The decision had nothing to do with last night’s friendly defeat, it had been in the pipeline for two weeks. 

⚪️ Howe gave his full commitment at the end of the season, but has changed his mind. He is now set to take a break from football. 

⚫️ Howe wanted the club to have a replacement lined up before he left. Al-Ahli’s Matthias Jessle is in advanced talks to take over.

��️ This is Eddie Howe's decision, the club tried to convince be him to stay but have reluctantly accepted his decision.

⚫️ Howe feels he has taken it as far as he can after nearly 5 years at the helm — the second longest serving PL manager.

♥️ No acrimony, the club love him, and think he’s done an amazing job. 

😢 I’m told Eddie Howe is very emotional about the decision and the easy decision would be to stay. It’s been a very difficult decision to make. But he’s given it everything.

❌ The players hadn’t been told this morning. They are on a day off today. 

🇪🇸 The squad are set to fly out to Spain for a pre-season training camp tomorrow. 

⏰ This is not ideal timing as far as the club are concerned, but they are moving swiftly to try and replace Howe.
