The cornerstone of a building is one on which the weight of the building rests, and Jesus is the rock on which the weight of everything rests. People rejected Him, but God raised Him up. When people reject you and me, we can reject their rejection and know that God will vindicate us and promote us as we follow Him.
Josephโs brothers rejected him, but God chose him to be a ruler and to have a place of tremendous power (Genesis 37, 39โ41). Davidโs brothers rejected him, but God anointed him to be a king (1 Samuel 16:6โ13).
Rejection is extremely painful, as bad as physical pain, or perhaps worse. God has created us for acceptance, and rejection goes against everything in His plan for us, yet we all experience it. It often comes from those we love most, because Satan knows they are the ones who can influence and hurt us most. He uses the pain of rejection to try to get us to be people-pleasers instead of God-pleasers.
The apostle Paul states in Galatians 1:10 that he would not have become an apostle of Jesus Christ if he had tried to be popular with people. How many people miss their destiny because they donโt reject the rejection that comes to derail them? Probably more than we can count.
God accepts you, and that is what really matters, so when people reject you, pray for them and reject their rejection, because God has a plan for you that will succeed without them.
