hey sorry i can’t come out tonight i need to research an incredibly specific and random topic alone and in silence for hours on end for no reason at all
I couldn’t sleep so I hopped on TikTok. Normally I’m not phased by this kind of “things I wish I knew” content but this woman really delivered MESSAGES.
@ChrisPalmerMD@chefhealthcoach Yes I agree with you, if someone doesn’t want to have a cookie they can choose to do so without being labeled as having an eating disorder. Definitely. An ED is more complex than just choosing to not eat sweets (which it sounds like you acknowledge).
@chefhealthcoach@ChrisPalmerMD This! It is unfortunate to see a provider act as if moderation and balance are nonexistent. We need to look at the full picture of what someone is eating. One cookie in a day of balanced eating is not going to cause harm.
@ChrisPalmerMD@KaylaWomeldorff Another RD here-I agree with Kayla. Ofc some foods are more nutrient dense, hence "healthier", but encouraging complete avoidance of less healthy food can exacerbate anxiety & black/white thinking. There is nothing wrong with moderation. Nutrition counseling from a RD is key.
Your body shows up every day — regardless of what you put it through, giving you its best to help you navigate life. The least we can do is nourish, respect and prioritize it. You have one body, appreciate it accordingly.
