Welcoming prolific and essential Mexican artist Andy Martin to Animalia, with his mesmerising, mind-bending musical interpretation of the Nahual, a common & integral figure of the belief systems of ancient Indigenous peoples of the Americas, which embodies the spiritual connection between humans & animals. In some traditional stories, this connection is so strong that they are said to transform into one of them. Tierra de Nahuales refers to a region of ancient America inhabited by these mythological beings, which in this EP become part of the Animalia universe, shaped by psychedelic broken rhythms, tribal sounds, and dub influences. Biz brings the heat to Subjekt for a second time here with another textured EP of acid-laced techno. Various different moods and tempos are explored, with 'No Way Back' tapping into the original Chicago jack vibes of the track with the same name with prickly 303s and bristling percussion. 'No Turning Back' is deeper and more roomy with eerie distant bells and molten acid lines, 'Feel The Flow' brings some widescreen synth landscapes that are rather serene but for the menacing acid which gurgles in the foreground and 'Charlotte' cuts loose on a more fluid and uplifting slice of deft groove magic. 'Way Too Hard' closes with a mix of punchy drums and reflective chords that encourage your mind to wander.

V.A/Djax-Up-Beats 1990-2005: The Acid Trip EP 1/Delsin
Delsin is pleased to announce an extensive compilation series combing through the catalogue of landmark Dutch techno label Djax-Up-Beats. The series, curated by Rush Hour co-founder Christiaan Macdonald, launches with a look at the label's legacy in the development of acid music through the 90s. In total, this first entry in the Djax-Up-Beats 1990-2005 series comprises 20 tracks, presented as a main triple-vinyl album plus two additional 12" EPs. This first additional EP brings four tracks, by Dutch pioneers Spasms and Random XS, and Chicago heavyweights Mike Dearborn and Gene Hunt. Crucially, every track featured on the series has been carefully mastered by Johanz Westerman, bringing the best out of tracks that often had very little post-production treatment before they were originally pressed to wax. With five more, equally extensive, volumes to come in this series, Djax-Up-Beats 1990-2005 is a thorough exploration of a true totem of techno culture - a renegade label that operated on its own terms and carried surprises and slammers in equal measure.
