Question on your stance of AI.

I've watched the economist and your take on the utopia you see in the future without the need for a monetary driven economy.

What I haven't heard is how we are going to get humanity from one quality of life to another, because until universal income is global, there will always be less fortunate, who will by their very nature will skew the end result of AI. The current governement system failed me and I found myself homeless at 19, though not for lack of skill or determination.

I was programming asm at 16, just out of curiousity learning from demo scene programmers on bbs / irc. I don't say this for pity, just as a point of reference that I understand the motivations that can drive a man.

Anger towards the establishment has a gradient scale depending on how comfortable you are living within it.

AI can be a very powerful ally, but equally as much of a foe in the wrong hands. There's too much social injustice in this world to ignore that there will be an underground which will weaponize it at some point. I'm not saying this is going to be me, but I've lived an interesting life of hardship as well as success, and I can see what would drive someone TO weaponize it. Intelligence is not limited by your income or your poor RNG roll in life.

Local / open source models will continue to develop, and at some point, someone is going to use and abuse it, in fact we're already abusing the technology in many respects in the race to be first and best. We're sacrificing human values to get to those results right now. At some point there will be a root kit / exploit for an AGI as a point of vindication. Conflicts resolve, one way or another.

In what context can we actually find this utopia?

I see way more red flags than I do green ones. I love technology, I'm a senior technical artist and I've done quite well for myself. I write shaders and tools, and it's a breakthrough invention -- BUT -- I do think at some point, AI's will face off in conflict, and it's hubris to think you have a perfect protection layer on this technology, no ?

I'm not saying we stop AI. I use it daily, and I love what it can do for us, but without balancing the scales of humanity first -- migrating from capitalism into a new social model where life isn't a struggle to survive for many, how do we expect to bridge that gap safely without inviting opportunities for disaster ?

We legitimately need a system reset to even hope to have a future where this isn't a real possibility of a negative end game. I know there will always be bad actors, but people are way more triggered now than they've ever been, and this should be a reason to be concerned, no ?

@ScotiabankHelps In fact your reps were so dumbfounded that they insisted that I was having technical issues / connection issues. You folks need a down-detection system your reps can use, because they clearly did not have access to this information.

@ScotiabankHelps This cost me hours trying to sort out. I went into the bank who advised me to uninstall the app, and re-install, which now no longer is able to sign in. I asked them there if there was an outage, I was told there was not. This was 10 minutes ago - and should be known by your reps

@OWCavalry I mean this is kind of a neat idea, but in theory it might be easy for a good team to abuse. Say our team got a kill, and our tank shields up mitigating damage for 5s, then the team focuses in on the next target, kills them, rinse and repeat, wouldn't that break this concept ?

@DiabloImmortal The sad thing is this game had quite a lot of potential too. Definitely a buggy start with visual glitches, but the content is pretty good and has a wide depth to it. But sadly the monetization of this game sets a new bar for insanity. I'd rather pay to play.

@MarkHamill If I had to guess - Elon Musk just bought twitter, it could be a backlash from that, as I know many have deleted their accounts, and also, a lot of bots are probably getting shut down very soon, possibly even ones used for media scraping.

@FOOTERYAN1 @trafficeng_1 @CalChipConnect I agree with you, except I live downtown in a city where every building in the area is a high-rise / apartment complex. There is no real tenant-access to the roof -- and I have to think that the same is true for others in my surrounding area. I'm basing my numbers on averages
