Before APC came into power, they had a former governor lined up as Minister of Power.

The man spoke passionately, laid out clear solutions, and made bold promises to fix Nigeria’s electricity crisis if they won.

They won. Years later, not a single promise was kept. Now they’re in their third term in power, and the power situation remains a national embarrassment.

Yet their supporters refuse to hold them accountable and are already pushing for another term.

Meanwhile, another candidate steps up and says: “Check my past record. If I’ve ever made a promise I didn’t deliver, call me out.”

Till today, no one has been able to point to any broken promise from him. Yet the same people claim he has no solution.

It’s disheartening watching people ignore obvious truth staring them in the face. This country’s situation is truly sad.

There’s a reason many people say Nigerians are gullible, and this situation perfectly illustrates why. I don’t understand why the majority of our youth are so eager to come out and protest against insecurity and banditry. One man suddenly emerges as the leader of the entire protest, and the next thing he’s saying is, “We are calling on the bandits to leave. We are the ones who will go into the forests and bushes to push them out.” It makes no sense. Intelligent people are following this one man without question. Then, in the middle of everything, he starts abandoning the movement, claiming that “other people have come to hijack it.” Hijack what exactly? Where do we even start? What weapons or guns does he expect to give these young people? And for what purpose? To go into the bush and fight bandits themselves? I genuinely don’t understand the logic behind this.

It’s funny how you claim to want to fight or call out bandits and insecurity in the country, yet you refuse to hold the Commander-in-Chief accountable, even though the bulk of the responsibility falls on his table. He was elected for a specific reason, and if those objectives cannot be achieved, whose fault is it? You are now being used as a tool of distraction to deflect attention from other quarters of the country—quarters that cannot do anything meaningful without the head’s approval.

No single individual is stronger than the government. But the government is also not stronger than the people when they stand united. Anyone claiming a movement is all about him is almost certainly working with the establishment — the same establishment that continues to push citizens into poverty.
