@pepijndevos So RB753GR3 + 2x Hue Bridges + Raspberry Pi CM3 + 2x Ubiquiti Flex Mini (all POE from DGS-1210-08P) = ~24 watts. I've eliminated most AC/DC adapters this way.

So the HEX POE + 6 Lite + SFP Transceiver would be pretty good. Both in costs & power consumption

@pepijndevos Yeeeeah... the Dream Machine sounds fun in theory. But given Ubiquitis track record for supporting quirky devices I wouldn't put my money on that.

@pepijndevos Edgerouter doesn't work with unifi, unfortunately. So the USG + Unifi would work, but the USG doesn't have sfp. So you'd need to use a media converter. Some unifis come with poe injector in the box. Otherwise you can buy one (from ubiquiti) for around 8-15 euros.

@pepijndevos I have up on the openwrt route years ago, there was always something specific that would play nicely on my Archer C5. Eventually picked up a Ubiquiti nanoHD on sale. Since then I've added a U6 Pro, also happy with that one :)

@pepijndevos Mikrotik also supports their gear for a pretty long time. I have no experience with their access points, but apparently they are also managed by their routers in the same UI

@pepijndevos If you're going for "bang for buck" the Mikrotik Routerboard series are great as routers. I have had the rb750gr3 for about four years and it is working great. I believe there is a variant that has SFP uplink.

@pepijndevos The zyxel modem that T-mobile offered 2 years ago takes ethernet as input. So as long as your own router can map the correct vlan you can use any router. The T-mobile router is pre-configured to do that. Note that I don't use TV or landline phone. More work if you need those.

@pepijndevos Oh so final word of wisdom on the modem/router situation: the modem part is basically the Media Converter (either provided by them, or an SFP module). The router you place behind is just using DHCP and that's that. MC/SFP is dumb and just passes through ethernet traffic.

@pepijndevos I'm on T-mobile NL and I have the fiber running straight into my managed switch (through an SFP module). Works great! In the D-Link the VLANs are mapped and the "internet" vlan is passed to my Mikrotik Routerboard. I get 930mbps on speedstests, so I'm happy 😊

Issue occurs when casting to a speaker group (Nest Hub v2, Nest Audio), a speaker pair (HK Citation 100) as well as individual devices (Nest Hub v2, Nest Audio, Onkyo Tx-nr676e)

Does anyone else have issues with casting @AppleMusic to @Chromecast from @Android? For me the speakers make the sound that indicates that casting has started, but the music never plays. @youtubemusic works fine. Asking the assistant to play from Apple Music works as well.
