... picture of her on the morning of her birthday, pre-fall. Her mood the previous couple weeks wasn't great, but on this morning she was in a great mood. Right before I took this I said "smile!", and she did! It looks so normal. #LifeWithAlz
One of my Twitter friends reached out to ask how we are doing, so I feel it's time to give an update to folks who were so helpful in the roughest times. Michelle passed away in late June. She had started to decline more at the end of May ... #LifeWithAlz#ENDALZ
... this new house and life with me. All of it has its good and bad and dealing with guilt over feeling happy and trying to figure out moments and thoughts that have both Katy and Michelle in them. And I still miss going in to see her smile and laugh. Here is a ... #LifeAlz
I can't say enough how much all the kind and comforting words have meant on here as we all shared similar burdens. I hope all of you can find some measure of peace and happiness on your journeys. #LifeWithAlz
Today I've cried more than any day since this whole thing started. I feel like I've fully lost the Michelle I knew. Yesterday she didn't smile or laugh with me at all, but still sat with me and ate/drank the treats I brought. Today she didn't seem to recognize me. #LifeWithAlz
I'm going to sign off Twitter for a while. It was one of my support channels and was incredibly helpful for getting through the caregiving part of this, but at this point I'll be seeking out in person support - my counselor, my support group, my family and friends. #LifeWithAlz
@alzbarbie It’s getting better. Michelle is doing better each day with some things, but there are new issues to learn to deal with also. I’m sleeping ok and things are better for me now that I can go see her throughout the day. :)

Doc ordered an X-ray, but late in the day so we will work on getting that as soon as possible in the morning and go from there. Just glad the visit went well and I can start going every day. Not seeing her this last week was tough.

I came to visit Michelle for the first time today and for the most part things have gone well with that. Trouble is she’s spent the last week walking and walking and now seems to have sciatica. She’s still walking but hunched sideways and in pain.

Tonight they called and I went over and took some chewable pain relievers, and got her in her jammies and to sleep. I’m hoping they don’t call for help with her during the night, but I’m headed for bed early just in case.

I told my support group yesterday about M going to memory care. I can’t say enough about how helpful they’ve been. We also talked abt the diff between things going fast and slow. It’s for sure the only place someone will tell me they are envious of me. And I get it.
