Fellow Ugandans and especially the Bazzukulu. Greetings from the Old Man with a hat. Congratulations on the nearly ending elections─ Presidential, Parliamentary, Local Govts and, eventually, LC1s. Over the course of the campaigns, I addressed 143 rallies across 153 districts, engaging directly with our people in what I found to be consultative and celebratory gatherings.

The elections have clarified the real balance of forces in Uganda. The strength and membership of the NRM demonstrate overwhelming national support. Even as we acknowledge outstanding issues such as UPE gaps, corruption, feeder roads and shortages of drugs in health centres, the Movement remains firmly rooted among the people. As we resolve these issues, our support will only grow stronger.

Together with the NRM leadership, I held my first rally today at Kayomba Primary School in Kitagwenda. I thanked God for enabling me to meet my veteran comrade, Mzee Bruhan Sserunga, who understands the challenges facing our fishing communities, and I look forward to engaging him further. I also thanked the LDU for supporting the UPDF in defeating the ADF here. As neighbours to Congo, the people of Kitagwenda know the cost of war. The NRM has safeguarded peace, which protects both lives and property.

On development, we have secured funding for the Ibanda–Kagongo–Kabujogera–Kamwenge road. I also thank the farmers of Kitagwenda, where 60 percent of households are now in the money economy. I will address the remaining concerns during my upcoming radio talk show. Nimwebare munonga Abanya Kitagwenda.
