“A Powerful Lesson” @RJH_397 👍🏻
🧵 1/6. This is a powerful lesson…
A high school class is learning about the Salem Witch Trials. Their teacher told them they were going to play a game.
Dawn Adams, an Irish patient advocate, told us about her commitment to women health, especially menopause topic in women with T1D and how it is important to support them with more awareness and information.

In my lifetime I have been sexually assaulted by male classmates at school, physically assaulted by drunk men at home, sexually assaulted by boyfriends, threatened physically and verbally by men, intimidated by unknown men whilst walking home, groped, leered at, whistled at, flashed at, you name it at by various men, it’s something that happens regularly to women throughout their lives, and no, it’s not all men, and I still like men, but it is a big problem in society and I worry for my daughter.
I’ve never been assaulted by a gay man or trans woman, and that’s not to say it doesn’t happen, there are bad people in all sections of society, but it’s not the norm, and I know who I’d feel safer around.
Irrational hatred just serves to perpetuate the real issues.
Cara-Friend are looking forward to attending the Helpline Awareness Day at Stormont today. This is a great opportunity to meet with other NI helplines and to raise awareness for the work we do. #nihelplinesday
@sunny_cyclist The only time I knocked a cannula off my arm by accident was when I was briefly on an Ypsomed! Those weird little swivel connections were way too high compared to Tandem, Animas or my current beloved Combo
@JohnCarland5 John, if you'd like to give me his name we can chant for his well-being in our Buddhist ceremony tomorrow morning. (A few good hearts concentrating some positive energy in his direction!)
@RTESunMisc @paulasheels @RTERadio1@RTE_Culture After that lovely piece I clicked here hoping for a photo of Fred and Ginger - and here they are! Perfectly described by @paulasheels
