Pope Francis was a holy man

You can criticize him all you want

But you can't deny it

Some of his decisions were imprudent

But holiness ≠ prudence

And even then, who am I to judge his decisions?

God gave me authority over my family, 4 people including myself

And I fail all the time

Francis was given authority over 1.4 billion Catholics

Responsibility for 2 billion Christians

And 8 billion souls worldwide

No one, not even a Cardinal, can comprehend the weight of that responsibility

Christ left a heavy burden for the head of His Church to bear

So we ought to pray for and support our next Pope whenever we can

Criticism may be warranted

But it only adds to his burden

Over these next several weeks as we await the election of the next Vicar of Christ, pray for the strength of that man

Repeat with Christ the words He said to the first Pope:

"When you return, strengthen your brothers"
