President John Mahama offers the famed Ghanaian warmth and hospitality as he hosts German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier during his three-day state visit to Ghana.

Ghana and Germany have decided to elevate our bilateral ties which is reflected in a new agreement we signed for improved political consultations.

Key issues discussed yesterday include: regional security, increasing trade volumes, forming a coalition to defend multilateralism and labour mobility for Ghanaian young professionals seeking to work in Germany.

The two leaders have deepened our cooperation in trade, business partnerships, STEM education, TVET, automotive collaboration, peace operations and counterterrorism initiatives.

The German President announced a €65million grant for priority projects in Ghana.

It was also beautiful to see the legendary footballer, Gerald Asamoah travel to Ghana on the German President’s delegation.
