@McDonaldsCanada I called your call centre to report a serious bug in your app. They didn’t understand at all what my complaint was and just added points to my account. App is ordering wrong food - needs a fix ASAP!
@ctvottawa I think the part @billcarrolltalk glosses over about when Uber first arrived is how terrible our taxis had become and WHY it was so easy to convince so many to dump them. Not that I'm wildly pro-Uber, but the taxi cartel deserved to get broken up.
@screamscape Without making it a political debate, the wild uncertainty about tariffs and what rates they could be would make buying from most manufactures very difficult at the moment. It could cost between 15 and 50% more. Can't underestimate how much that is part of the delays...
@canadaposthelps Just tried to buy a stamp for a post card. Clerk had no idea what a post card was and refused to sell a stamp. Told us to come back on Monday. Seriously.
@BiniIrl@trainguy89 Also to be fair, the majority of the city is not downtown and therefore not as important an airport destination as many seem to think / complain about... 😅
@MyLowertown Blaming the city for the menus at restaurants? And then going on to say the restaurants aren't good because they offer hamburgers and pizza? Sorry, but cultural elitism isn't about to solve the Byward's issues. You touch on real issues, but then undermine it all with snobbery.
@highspeedottawa @Ebeaud1 @rail613 Older MTL stock (and I believe the same for Paris) do that. The newer stock do not. Ditto for older buses (including OCs former fleet). Hell, they used to drive around with the front doors open on hot days!
@rail613 To be fair, those benches (and that whole side of the station) were supposed to be along one of the main connections to the Lebreton redevelopment. Can thank the NCC for the continued foot dragging there...
@RM_Transit His point is that the provincial government is picking up 100% of the tab for many GTA area projects, while only 33% of the tab for Ottawa projects. And it's a fair point. Why are local 613 taxpayers saddled disproportionately with local projects?
@SlugsUploads @RailFansCanada THIS! I get so frustrated by ppl acting like this is a normal thing, to just shutter a core section of the transit system for a week or two every year.
It is not. Early closures - yes. Weekend shutdowns - yes. But total shutdowns? It's just not normal practice.
@rail613@dilborg@ottawacity I guess you'll just stop talking about fixing Hurdman too then, as that design was also in the contract? Or should maybe we keep on demanding better from the system and our elected officials?
@rail613@dilborg "...as it continues work to address a backlog of infrastructure repairs." The MBTA has long, long, LONG neglected to do regular maintenance. Is that the standard you're really aiming for us to follow?
