What have I been up to the last few months? Well, I've seen this categorized as hard techno and Rotterdam; however you label it, it makes a wicked soundtrack for drilling through steel. https://t.co/25T9O4lthQ
The show may still be on hiatus but that doesn't mean you can't check out some tunes appropriate for today. From the archives: Episode 16, "Our Home On Native Land". https://t.co/QFUX0wNemm
Robert Smith Sings “Plainsong” to His Wife During Cure Concert:
The relatively private tribute from the band's May 24th performance was revealed by fan-captured footage

I just sent my 74 year old father a link to a Greta van Fleet song. Because their sound has a lot of similarities to Zeppelin, he's either going to love them or hate them. I'm thinking if he can get past his dislike of Plant's voice, he'll love GvF. Time will tell! :P
@prjktsynthetik @elizanol It's also that it's been about fire suppression rather than controlled burns. There's more fuel for the fire to consume when a fire does start, and the fuel is drier bc of climate change. Some fire services are now getting advice from Indigenous communities on traditional burns.
Made the mistake of sleeping with my window open a bit; woke up coughing and congested. Realizing that this is a sign of things to come makes me hope that more controlled burns are undertaken in the way Indigenous people had been doing pre-colonization.
@ThatMetGirl Something I've been wondering: the last few days, I noticed the AQI gets worse between noon and about 3pm. Does UV play a role in air quality?
From Canadaland, host Jesse Brown speaking about podcasting (news particularly) says, "[It's] archaic. It's mp3 files delivered over RSS. [It's] old tech"; Cory Doctorow's rejoinder? "It's a nobler weapon from a more civilized age." Bless his nerdy heart.
Tina Turner's passing is such a loss. She was one of the greats, and I'm glad that she got to outlive Ike by 15+ years, and that she had not only success and respect without him, but love and happiness. Rest well, Tina. Thank you for being an inspiration. https://t.co/Dgo2cRVTAS
@OndeDeShok@maletearsband I think a lot of us have a story like that. I wrote my 8th gr crush a poem; he read it to the entire class, laughing so hard his face was red, streaming tears.
Some people don't deserve the gesture, and that's on them. I hope you find someone who deserves that tape.
And if I'm not mistaken, the piano in "Happy" is from "A Day In The Life" by the Beatles, which adds a layer. If not a sample, then a deliberate evocation of it.
I can't get over how much I like Kesha post-Dr. Luke. This album is slick, but not sanitized. Rubin's production merely smooths the edges of what's a surprisingly raw journey of an album. A few remix-friendly cuts, but that's not her point. Fantastic. 🔁 https://t.co/KfJCWYsQNH
@deadmansbastard Ohhh. I legitimately want to try this. I'm the weird kid who would chew on raw licorice root. The odds of it being available in Canada are poor, though.
