@Gray352709@barnfinds I’ve resurrected many a Ro80. Originally put away due to suspected engine failure. Only to find there was nothing wrong with it. Inexperienced mechanics and misdiagnosis was a major factor.
@hw97karbine I think the outcome of that is very impressive. A safety cell was very much part of the Ro80 design. The high sills are also very effective against side impacts. Plus the fuel tank is under the rear parcel shelf , thus in the scenario shown, the tank would not rupture.
@DyingNight6 At an hour and a half we weren’t even half way there. Couldn’t take any more and had to bail wasting entry, travel & overnight stay expenses. Never again!
@drumsheds#drumsheds Last night was a disgrace. After 1.5 hours of queuing and not even being half way there my friend and I decided to bail due to feeling unsafe and claustrophobic. We then had to fight our way back through the queue behind us to get out. I want a refund! 🤬
@hundekuchenMC @De_JaY On the contrary, it’s actually become increasingly easier to keep the originals running. Better parts availability now than there’s been in decades. Very few Ro80’s thse days that have engine conversions.
