@dfsupdates@drivelinekyle Yes but there is a ratio for max velocity based between mass and swing speed. Why do you think -5 usssa bats are hotter than -8 and -10 bats? More mass.
@drivelinekyle@TheDataCage …and I’m going to listen to a good friend who actually works production for a huge bat manufacturer.
This is no different than usssa -5 bags being more hot than -8 and -10.
-3 BBCOR will still be hotter than -4 -5 and -6.
You don’t think this was tested first? 😂😂
@Dougie0045 Just like usssa bats, -5 is better than -8 and -10. -3 will still hit harder than -4-5-6. More mass is better. Bbcor bats all have restrictor rings in the barrel. This will do nothing for most HS players. Just helps smaller players get the barrel around.
@BaseballWRLD_ They are still bbcor bats with the restrictor ring in the barrel. -3 will still be best. Just like usssa -5 is better than -8 and -10. More mass is better
@Doug_Adams2 It’s not going to do much except for smaller guys who have trouble hitting velocity. Bbcor bats all have a restrictor ring in the sweet spot of the barrel. -3 will still hit hardest, more mass. -4-5-6 will just help smaller guys/kids make contact l.
@TheDataCage@drivelinekyle What? That is literally the definition of BBCOR bad. The manufacturer has to put in a restrictor ring to be compliant. If not, it’s an illegal bat.
@LukeDunham77 Yes uptick in bat speed but with less mass. Basically it will allow smaller guys and contact hitters to catch up to the ball, but with less mass. -3 will still be king of bbcor and likely only smaller players if many at all will swing other drops. Freshman and sophomores maybe.
@jeff_wafford Wrong take. Still will have the bbcor restrictor ring in the barrel that restricts trampoline effect. -3 will still be the best bbcor bat, -4-6- whatever will just have less mass and less exit velocity. Just like in usssa bats -5 is king over -8 and -10.
@MikeAlves31@IHSA_IL Wrong take. Still will have the bbcor restrictor ring in the barrel that restricts trampoline effect. -3 will still be the best bbcor bat, -4-6- whatever will just have less mass and less exit velocity. Just like in usssa bats -5 is king over -8 and -10.

@JoeDoyleMiLB …you aren’t going see any showcase kids using anything but drop 3. Bbcor bats have an internal restrictor ring that minimizes talking effect. So anything lighter than -3 will have less mess but same restriction, so won’t hit as hard. Just like usssa,-5 is king over -8 -10
@KSchulba The difference is actually that bbcor bats have restrictor rings inside the barrel that minimize trampoline effect. -3 will still be near, lighter drops will be for smaller guys and contact hitters.
@drivelinekyle Think about usssa bats, which weight hits the head. -10,-8, or -5? -5 all day. Will be same with BBcor, -3 will still be best. The lighter drops will just be for smaller, contact hitters.
@tydamico54 People are making a big deal about this hit it honestly will be a nothing burger. Bbcor bats have an internal restrictor ring in the barrel to minimize trampoline effect. Think about USSSA bats, which weight hits hardest. -10,-8, or -5? Will be the same with BBCOR. -3 best still
@BSBSCOUT I don’t think it’s going to matter much to be honest. Bbcor bats have a restrictor ring inside the bat that gives minimum trampoline effect. So a lighter bbcor will just have thinner walls with less mass, balls won’t fly as far. May just help undersized kids make contact. 🤷♂️
