@ClaireMorganDJ Because some people might be great DJs but the way it works nowadays you HAVE to be a producer too. So some take theeasy way and use a GP to get to do what they love: DJ. It's messed up for sure, but somehow a symptom of a system gone wrong terribly.

But from a label's standpoint... not sure if they need to be the ethical guardian. That being said: It's so hard to get on labels like DC I doubt you'd make it that far if you don't have skills to back it up.

@samvoltek I am sure big labels like DC are targetted by those who dream of fame and use GPs. But it's far from easy to get signed so I doubt if it's true. Even so, people buy whatever is popular and on the 'big label' or by the 'popular artist' so GP is just a symptom, not the disease.
