@devbascombe Because it was fully depreciated, the basis was $0. That “transaction” was completed at the transfer. The sale would be treated oridinary income under the depreciation recapture rules to the extent of the depreciation.

@devbascombe C. The first transfer has no implications to the recipient because it was a gift. However, if it had been over the annual exclusion, it could have been taxable to Delilah. Because it is a gift, the recipient gets a carry over basis. 1/2
