If you're going to Ultra in Wellington, party safe by getting any drugs checked before you go. There won't be drug checking on-site.
Wellington City Council should make having Know Your Stuff a requirement for such events. Basic community safety efforts shouldn't be optional.
@MHReddell@essigna@zdnzau Robbie Williams is being promoted by Australian giant Frontier Touring. The ticket platform they're using is also offshore owned. All profits from the two biggest revenue streams will go directly offshore.
The funds should specifically have excluded offshore companies applying.
My set from AUM Festival on new years eve 2022, recreated in the studio.
For my debut set on the KΔnuka stage I went with my brand of ethic rhythms and high tech soul: @orlandovoorn, @carlosnilmmns, Abe Duque, DJ Linus, Carl Craig + more. https://t.co/LBG7KN1SKg
A Gospel House Classics mix from me spanning some of the most uplifting tunes from the 90s. π
Sounds like: Sounds of Blackness, Ann Nesby, Vernessa Mitchell, Arnold Jarvis, Inner City and more. Enjoy. #housemusic#classichouse https://t.co/4m8RRYTVS6
@EricCrampton@_chloeswarbrick In addition to this, the Auckland LAP appeals included the Police, the Medical Officer of Health and a Takapuna residents group. They'll be unable to appeal any LAP too. What then if an LAP comes which looks like the current Auckland one?
I made a mix of classic house music love songs from the 90s for George FM's Matariki weekend. Vocal house anthems of yesteryear - Ce Ce Peniston, Kym Sims, Cathy Dennis, M People and more. Now up on Mixcloud. #housemusic@GeorgeFM https://t.co/jgczzxumqq
Research shows that indoor settings are far higher risk for Covid spread than outdoors.
Why then does the 100 person gathering limit apply to both? If evidence is the basis for traffic light settings then outdoors should have higher limits.
Anyone want to explain? #covid19nz
The best new years festival in the north island went off amazingly. They didn't need any border exemptions. Over 100 local artists over three nights slayed it at Aum NYE Festival. #nzsummer#musicfestival
@mickcsmith@jacindaardern@chrishipkins@grantrobertson1 Plenty of them will have gigs elsewhere, and then the djs on the 1st will get impacted too. Safe to say that the higher profile an artist is, the more likely they are to have other gigs on other nights - and often needing flight to get to/from.
If the traffic light change was at midday on 30 Dec instead of midnight it would save the govt millions of dollars in payouts it will now need to make through various event/culture protections schemes. And for no purpose either. @jacindaardern@chrishipkins@grantrobertson1
The traffic light change for most of NZ at midnight on 30th Dec means many of the remaining NYE festivals are now being swamped with ticket discount demands because they mostly start on the 30th. Why couldn't it have been midnight on the 29th? Seems arbitrary. #covid19nz

Auckland CBD is experiencing an increase in assaults, "public drunkenness, meth rages..." despite bars being shut for months. π€ Remember this the next time ppl talk about restricting bar hours. The issue, as always, is cheap off licence alcohol. #Auckland https://t.co/9dfOeqISVS
@hypeasgus It is now. When it came out it wasn't. I guess you could say that a small chunk of house that's rocked the last decade would have been called tech house pre 2000. But stuff labelled tech house now wouldn't have. π€·ββοΈ
@hypeasgus You would if you'd been around when it was kicking off. Some amazing records which were so different to others in the late 90s. After 2000 it quickly went downhill and never recovered.π https://t.co/oj3vrIOo3V
@hypeasgus @anth_ny_ We have different experiences of course but I've asked dozens of djs in recent weeks about it. The mid size gigs go out of their way to pay as many as possible. The larger ones more likely to just offer contra.
I'm with you on the scheme aims, but think they've missed the mark.
Request. I invite anyone to offer a good reason the majority of NZ's best summer festivals have been excluded from eligibility for the Events Transition Support Scheme announced by @Stuart_NashMP this week. The events scene is livid.
@_chloeswarbrick@Jasonwalls92@henrycooke
@EricCrampton@publicaddress@Offsetting@dbseymour @duncangreive @nzmusicmonth If that was the case, cutting down in admin, then that's not a reasonable excuse at all. The mid size events are the ones at most risk of being cancelled, with the most downstream impact too in artists, suppliers etc.
Looks like the alcohol laws are back in the mix now that a few of the orgs which lost badly in the Auckland Local Alcohol Policy appeals case think everyone has forgotten about it. They want to make their lobbying stick this time. π€ #alcoholnz
