@TheAshleyClem As someone who is generally against leftovers ... For me it's the sight and smell of cold food that used to be warm. It completely grosses me out and makes me gag. My workaround is packaging food in individual portions so I can shove it in the microwave without looking at it.

I can't speak for everyone, but in our experience, kindergarten and 1st grade just basically rehashed what our kiddo learned in PreK. Making it pointless by 2nd grade, yes, because my kid's been almost bored the past year.

So true! I had literally no idea what jobs were out there except the basics (doctor, teacher, lawyer, etc).

A thing I often think is missing from the uni discourse is that young people who aren't from a pretty wealthy (/academic/high cultural capital) background actually have no idea what jobs there are except the quite obvious ones

I've been fighting with my 6yo for two weeks to eat his dinner. Just found out my husband's been treating him to a happy meal every day on the way home from day camp.

Being a working mom sometimes means getting up at 3am after 2 hrs of sleep to take your infant to the ER for a few hours, only to get home & put in a full day's work (from home) while also caring for said infant. And then making sure everyone is fed, clean & in bed before resting

@jsstansel Just wondering ... Would it be a HIPAA violation to be required to take a medical test and send those results to someone who is not your doctor?

Not to mention the fact that they could test negative, & then be exposed the very next day. Making the test essentially pointless.

@jsstansel I didn't learn the difference between graduation and commencement until I was getting my Masters in Higher Ed. and interned in the Registrar's office.

Side note - most people don't know what the Registrar's office does, either. 🤷‍♀️
