Mucho ánimo a Wout van Aert.

Fructose and seed oils are two dietary factors that have been linked to inflammation.
Fructose is found in fruits, honey, and processed foods. When fructose is consumed, it is metabolised in the liver.
This process can lead to the production of inflammatory compounds, such as C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6).
Seed oils are oils that are extracted from the seeds of plants, such as sunflower, corn, soybean, and canola.
Seed oils are high in omega-6 fatty acids. Omega-6 fatty acids are essential fatty acids, but consuming too many omega-6 fatty acids can lead to inflammation.
The ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids is a crucial aspect of dietary fats. Ideally, this ratio should be low, as a high ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids is linked to inflammation and chronic diseases. Standard diets according to dietary guidelines often had ratios of around 1:1 to 3:1, but many modern diets can have ratios as high as 15:1 to 17:1, heavily favouring omega-6s.
Inflammatory effects of fructose and seed oils
Fructose and seed oils have been linked to several inflammatory diseases, including:
- Arthritis
- Obesity
- Fatty liver disease
- Pancreatitis
- Type 2 diabetes
- Heart disease
- Stroke
- Alzheimer's disease
- Cancer
- etc.
To reduce inflammation caused by fructose and seed oils, it is important to:
1) Eliminate the intake of sugar, processed foods, and sugary drinks.
2) Choose meat, low starch vegetables, and berries over fruit and high starch vegetables.
3) Choose healthy fats, such as olive oil, avocado oil, butter, lard, tallow, and coconut oil, over seed oils.
4) Eat a whole, unprocessed foods.
5) If you are concerned about inflammation, talk to your ”low carb no-seed-oils” doctor. They can help you assess your risk factors and recommend ways to reduce inflammation.
