There are no “automatic” recounts in MN. Races within margin (0.25% for statewide/federal offices; 0.5% for state legislative races) qualify for publicly funded recount where public pays costs to administer recount, but losing candidate must request the recount.

[MPR News @MPRnews]

Update: Races for Minnesota attorney general and state auditor remained tight Wednesday, though both incumbents claimed victory in the morning as their counts sit outside an automatic recount margin.

@dan_kraker @MPRnews Why do you say it’s subject to an automatic recount? Current results on SOS site show Hauschild up by 1.74%, well outside the 0.5% margin for publicly funded recounts. Am I missing something?

Way to go Hayden! Keep up the great work. And minor correction, he was 12th (out of 129) in the Varsity Freestyle race at the Mesabi East Invite.

The MN Bar Association sent a message to its listserve which led to a short (4 or 5 emails) discussion. Over the next four hours, I received 283 emails with requests to be removed from the list and pleas for people to stop sending those requests to the group. No end in sight.

@JeremyKalin Minor correction. 2013 Amendment was a response to MN Sup. Ct.'s decision that DFL could nominate Simonson to replace Gauthier on the ballot. Legislature amended to remove the distinction between constitutional and other offices upon which the Court relied.

COVID-19 Sequestration Log, Day 10. Went for a five mile run. I needed. Considering a pet tiger which I assume is the proper takeaway from Tiger King on Netflix.

COVID-19 Sequestration Log, Day 9. Honestly growing tired of conference calls.

[David Zoll @djzoll]

COVID-19 Sequestration Log, Day 8. Taught a class with 16 students and two teachers using Zoom. It worked surprisingly well for our mock mediation session. I still prefer in-person classes.

COVID-19 Sequestration Log, Day 7. Daily walk filled with Hayden sharing details of the @jessdiggs book Brave Enough. So, pretty much an awesome walk.
