I probably shouldn’t even be in this conversation (because I’m asexual and don’t really engage in sex) but I need to say something I haven’t seen anyone mention yet:

Porn is a huge part of why so many people now find sex exhausting.

A few decades ago, we didn’t have 24/7 access to hardcore porn. Sex was something people did: sometimes for pleasure, sometimes for kids, sometimes both. It was a physical act, and that was it.

Now we’ve got people watching high-intensity porn daily.

I read somewhere that about 7 in 10 men watch porn every day. That’s not just a visual habit, that’s physical conditioning.

Think about what that means:
You’re lying there. Oiled dick in your hand. Three minutes into the right video, boom. You’re done. You’ve come. Release achieved.

No effort. No communication. No emotional or physical labor.

Just instant dopamine and clean-up.

Repeat that cycle long enough, and of course real sex starts to feel like a chore in comparison.

Because in real sex, you can’t fast-forward. You need to engage. You start with emotional foreplay: texting, talking, building intimacy, maybe doing the damn dishes.

Then you get to the actual foreplay. Which takes however long it takes. Then penetration … which, for her, might not even lead to orgasm, because we still have a massive orgasm gap no one likes to talk about.

Then aftercare, which porn never taught you to do.

She’s tired. You’re tired. Everything that surrounded the act outlasted the act.

Meanwhile, your body is trained to get off in 2.5 minutes without touching another soul.

So yes, real sex feels like a lot. Because porn has made you all socially and sexually lazy.

And again, I’m asexual. I don’t have skin in the game (no pun intended). I don’t care either way.

But I am observing a real trend:
A growing number of people are opting out of sex altogether, not because they don’t want connection, but because porn makes real intimacy feel inefficient.

Just wanted to add that, because I haven’t seen it mentioned, and it’s a massive part of the picture.

We are seeing an increase in sexless relationships and marriages because of this.
