Way back in ‘06 I had a dude on my team in Afghanistan that was a duel citizen U.S./Israel.

He was the sniper on one of my teams for a short time. Real solid dude.

He grew up in the U.S., but couldn’t join the U.S. military because he had asthma. So, he joined the IDF.

We flew into Kabul together and I was surprised at what happened at the airport.

The Afghan police controlling the airport wouldn’t let him through security.

He had a U.S. passport like the rest of us, so we were confused.

The issue was, he had Israel stamps in his passport.

He had to fly all the way back to the states, get a new passport with no Israeli stamps, then fly back to AFG.

I was confused as to why they’d let Americans in, but someone associated with Israel was a non-starter.

I get it now.
