@Marcus43265385@66cjg@PolymarketSport The average player makes more money (MLBPA represents all players). The top end will not make much more than currently, although some will as now there will be more teams spending $30+ on a single player instead of just the top few teams.
@vazquez_david22@EvanDrellich While technically the Dodgers didnt do anything wrong, the issue is the fact they dont have to pay proper revenue sharing due to a bankruptcy 20 years ago. So the Judge did something wrong 20 years ago, but it benefits the Dodgers.
@RichHalsall24@Damon98_ Exit velocity doesnt matter that much if you hit it with a -20 degree launch angle. It was a routine ground out (or DP if there was less than 2 outs)
@DustinNosler We obviously dont know for sure because there is no reality in which the Dodgers arent in LA, but you cant say its not just the appeal of LA Lights and Hollywood Lifestyle (and being close to Japan) when that is at least 90% the reason Yamamoto, Ohtani and Roki went there.
@President_Bass2@FAmmiranteTFJ has nothing to do with coaching or farm system. But it does have a lot to do with location. All things equal they will take LA every time. So no other team can technically pay the same money to keep these players.
@dansaint5879@Travis_Sawchik This is false, its not about money much of the time. Look at Roki/Ohtani/Yamamoto. Tucker was about the money though, cant blame him there.
@JGoldberg12 "On paper" worse than last year's team as you replace Bo with the unproven Kazuma and are locking in Ernie and Gimenez everyday. We also have to take into account a regression from Springer I think and although you could make it up with a decent season from tony, a bit scary.
@HowBoutDemMets@jayhaykid Fair enough. The point I think the original tweeter was making is it is a very low pressure hypothetical situation. There are several "superstars" on the team and they have won 2 straight WS. Just bonus stats at this point for the Dodgers when they add, nothing else is needed.
@HowBoutDemMets@jayhaykid You are conflating two different things. Star players and 2025 WAR.
Freeman, Betts, Ohtani and Yoshi are all 100% ahead of Tucker in Star power (and not impossibly 2026 WAR). Then you have Diaz and Snell who you could argue Star power/ 2026 WAR. Then the rest of the All-Stars.
