I went to get the screen repaired on my Pixel 5a yesterday. I own the phone and I was going to pay out of pocket. They wouldn't do it because Google requires them to run Google's d̶a̶t̶a̶-̶c̶o̶l̶l̶e̶c̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ diagnostic app after the repair, and I don't run stock Android.
