My interview with Didmus Barasa was my last one at Radio Generation. By then, I had already resigned and was moving on to something else.
It was probably the interview that best captured what those few months had taught me when I joined the station, I was far more of an activist than a journalist. I had no patience for politicians, especially those I felt had contributed to where this country is today. I even refused to interview some of them. I was convinced that giving them a platform was the wrong thing to do.

I was constantly told I was emotional and biased, especially towards UDA politicians. It annoyed me, but I also had to be honest with myself that journalism isn't activism. You don't get to choose who you hold to account. You ask the questions, no matter who is sitting across from you. That was one of the hardest adjustments I had to make.
So when Didmus Barasa sat in that chair, I asked him about the things people wanted answers to, including Brian's killing.

I wish more people understood the cost of activism. Some of you have the privilege of working wherever you want, building your careers without your politics following you everywhere. Activists don't have that luxury. Many employers see you as a liability. People assume you're surviving on NGO money because it's an easier story to believe than the truth. The truth is that writing for different platforms and doing consultancy work is what has kept me afloat.

The last two years have been the hardest of my life. Living under constant public scrutiny. Every morning I would wake up hoping my name wasn't trending again over another lie or another propaganda campaign. You become used to fear. You become used to people discussing your life as if they know it. It is exhausting.

If I could choose, I would never choose that part of this life again. But I also know that nothing is going to change about me. I will always care. I will always fight. That part has never been negotiable.

I had refused to interview Kasmuel too but eventually I realised I couldn't keep carrying my activist instincts into a newsroom. We did the interview, challenged each other, and it remained respectful. That experience, like many others, taught me that journalism and activism are different disciplines.

A new Bill has been proposed that seeks to stop the IEBC from livestreaming election results from polling stations.

This past week/weekend, the prominent Zimbabwean scammer Wicknell Chivayo was in Statehouse Nairobi meeting Ruto. The last time he was in Kenya was about 3 months ago during a closed door meeting where he was handed a document in an official govt of Kenya emblazoned folder.
You see the reason why these two incidents are very important is because after the 2023 Zimbabwean election, it emerged that there had been massive fraudulent corruption perpetrated by the government through a South African Family owned Company called Ren-form that supplies all sorts of electoral material specifically focusing of biometric kits and ballot papers. This company after receiving funds from the government then goes ahead to wire Wicknell funds to his company Intratrek as he is the 'Local agent.'
In one of the incidents, a server that goes for about R 90,000 was billed at R23,000,000. BVR kits they had quoted at $5,000 tripled pricing in the final invoice to ZEC (Zimbabwean Electoral Commission) and we're sold for $16,000 a piece. Interestingly enough, on both occasions that he has been in Kenya, he has also passed by the Tanzanian Statehouse to meet the other embattled president Samia Suluhu. This so called system maintenance is not coincidental that it happened on the same weekend when the biggest electoral fraud perpetrator was in the country.
This is a story I've followed for over a year now. From their official introduction by Mnangagwa at Statehouse Zimbabwe to Dubai for that Climate maneno. Will keep updating as we go.
As I say, I believe in coincidences, but only to a certain point

Sifuna must visit all the Radio/TV stations,go to all these podcasts,join Twitter Spaces,invade vernacular stations in totality and be consistent with what he pushes the same way Riggy does it. The government apologists are telling him to avoid the media but in my book if a presidential candidate cannot go to the media and easily push his agenda and narrative across then he has no business being one. The message must get to the most remote of places,go to regional or village podcasts,spaces,Facebook and Tiktok lives etc.
Trump literally won by going to those podcasts and never shying away from debates while he consistently hammered his points.
Ofcouse he may say something off but that’s what makes us human beings,collecting feedbacks and going is the way.
The sixth must be palpable in all areas of this country,at no point should the momentum slow down.
