It is long overdue to remove the hereditary principle for membership of @UKHouseofLords and time to reform the Lords by electing members of a second chamber. Such reform was promised in 1911 "only in this House could 113 years be considered too short a time to agree the details"

2015: Conservative David Lidington confirmed that the Brexit referendum would be 'advisory'

After the referendum Farage said, "Not to leave the EU would be a massive betrayal of democracy"

So in 2024 an advisory opinion is not legally binding, but in 2015 not delivering on an advisory referendum is a "betrayal of democracy"
