“It’s kind of between a meal and a dessert”
“That’s right, I don’t usually enjoy desserts, but this was good”
“Ah, for overseas fans, it’s called dujjonku (Dubai chewy cookies), it’s a dessert that’s trending in Korea these days.”
“What’s really shocking is that they don’t sell it in Dubai”
“I’ve always been curious about that, like, who even started this?”
“Apparently, a Korean chef made it”
“ㅋ Dubai chewy gimbap”

Doh Kyungsoo expresses interest in a romantic comedy for his next role:
Q: “Were you worried that the intense villain image might stick with you?”
Kyungsoo: “I want people to see me as the character of the project I’m working on, no matter what it is. Even if I play another villain next time, I’d want to play one where Yohan doesn’t show through at all. Right now, I’m thinking I’d like to try something completely opposite from Yohan, like a romantic comedy.”

Doh Kyungsoo explained his view on the ending of ‘The Manipulated’:
“[...] I personally think Yohan died. Realistically speaking, he got stabbed in the chest, didn’t he? Then there was an explosion and a fire. Taejoong is someone who has always acted for good, so there were helpers who came to rescue him, but Yohan committed so many murders and did nothing but the worst things, so if he was left alone, I don’t think anyone would have come for him. I think he met his death alone like that.”
As for the final scene, where a figure resembling Yohan appears from behind, he said, “I think they left it as an open ending where no one knows who that silhouette is. During filming, they debated whether the silhouette should be the nanny or Yohan again. I think a lot of discussion went into whether to leave some kind of hint or to remove everything. I wasn’t the one who filmed that shot. I was present at the time, but a bit-part actor filmed it. I think Yohan died, but depending on what the writer and directors think, maybe he didn’t. So if we end up doing a Season 2, I guess I’ll think about it again.”

Doh Kyungsoo shared his thoughts on acting together in the same project with his close friend Lee Kwangsoo:
“[...] This is the first time we’ve appeared in the same project since the drama ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love’. And back then, we didn’t have any scenes together, so acting with him in this project felt practically like the first time.
I was surprised at how different hyung was from the version of him I see in everyday life. I knew he was good at acting, but his ability to focus in the moment was unbelievably good. I actually had a lot to learn from him.”
Regarding Baek Dokyung, the character Lee Kwangsoo plays in the show, he said with a laugh, “He’s a character that, from the viewer’s perspective, you should hate the sight of, and on set I really did hate the sight of him. That’s how well he pulled off the character.
I thought acting with someone I’m close to might feel awkward or make it harder to focus because of the familiarity, but I actually focused even better. I think it’s because he acted so well.”
Speaking humorously about the scene where he kills Baek Dokyung, he said, “It relieved my stress. I’m joking, but I was really able to focus well.”

Doh Kyungsoo opens up about taking on his first villain role and portraying a completely new type of character in ‘The Manipulated’:
“It’s not that I couldn’t play a villain, it’s that I never had the opportunity to take on such a role. I’ve always wanted to try it. More than feeling pressure or worry, I just thought it would be fun. Filming itself was really enjoyable. It was an experience where I could try expressing something new.
[...] Normally, I don’t show strong emotions or raise my voice much. But through this character, I got to shout and push my emotions to the limit. Being able to express myself like that freely was actually fun.”
Doh Kyungsoo also explained that he aimed to express the villain through his appearance. In particular, he spent four hours on his hairstyle, saying, “After bleaching my hair, I deliberately damaged it and permed it. I actually used a drill to make my hair stand up. But about two people recognized it and asked, ‘Did you really do your hair like that?’ which made me really proud. The style shows better with bleached hair, but because it’s black, it didn’t stand out as much, which was disappointing.”

Doh Kyungsoo reveals that he will be unable to attend his close friend Kim Woobin’s wedding because of a scheduling conflict:
“[...] (EXO activities) are important, and on the other hand, that (Kim Woobin’s wedding) is also important. Of course, I thought EXO comes first, so it hurts my heart, but I need to be even better to Woobin hyung. He understands it’s unavoidable, and while I feel regret about that, it’s something we all understand.
I naturally thought I would be the one singing at the wedding because I knew about the wedding news early on. But after that, the MMA 2025 schedule was set, and I wondered how I should tell Woobin hyung when I saw the date. Both of us felt very disappointed. Honestly, I was even planning to sing ‘Popcorn’ (which Woobin likes) as the congratulatory song.
[...] I recently met Shin Minah sunbae for the first time at a Disney+ event. I’ve known Woobin hyung for a long time, so just knowing that someone I’ve known for so long is getting married is truly something to celebrate. I could feel that they have a very healthy and happy relationship, so I sincerely congratulate them.
You can just tell that the two of them will be happy. Even after dating for so long, they still give each other flowers. On Pepero Day, they even bought Pepero themselves, and I was surprised to see that they still give each other flowers.”
