I am old enough to remember when President Trump promised to end this war on day 1.
Sadly, rather than deliver on that promise he is instead misleading the world and the American people about what is happening.
TRUMP: "[Zelensky] is always looking to purchase missiles. You don't start a war against somebody that's 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles."
1. Patriots are not missiles, they are air DEFENSE systems. Why does Ukraine want air defense systems? Because Russia keeps slaughtering civilians with its missiles as it did in Sumy over the weekend killing 34 people and injuring over 100 on their way to church to mark Palm Sunday.
2. Zelensky didn't start the war. Putin did.
3. On this occasion, Zelensky hasn't asked to be given missiles, he has asked to buy them.
We are, no doubt, going to be told that this is The Art of the Deal to get Zelensky to work for peace. The problem with this is that putting more pressure on Ukraine will not produce peace since Ukraine has already agreed to a ceasefire. The obstacle to peace is the side which hasn't: Russia.
Secretary Rubio was right when he said when announcing the ceasefire negotiations that once Ukraine accepted a ceasefire proposal we would know "where the obstacle to peace is". We do. And the way to peace is to put pressure on Putin instead of criticising Zelensky for doing everything in his power to stop Ukrainian churchgoers from being blown up by Russian missiles.
For some reason, instead of following through on his threats to apply further sanctions to Russia get *them* to the negotiating table, we are fed this nonsense instead.
I worry that rather than playing some sort of 4D chess, President Trump has met his match when it comes to these negotiations, as his truly "special" envoy who knows nothing about the region, the conflict or, indeed, anything else of relevance to these negotiations is playing into Putin's hands.
I am in Ukraine right now and support for Zelensky has never been higher - precisely because of how Trump treated him. There is massive feeling of betrayal throughout the entire country and everybody blames Trump and Elon.
Elon has absolutely no idea. He’s just inhabiting alternative reality.
Every single flag behind me represents a man who died fighting for the independence of Ukraine.
I ask JD Vance: Should they be thankful?
I ask Trump: Did they die for nothing?
As many inexplicably seem to be throwing President @ZelenskyyUa to the wolves, I stand with him. He’s been an astoundingly courageous and inspiring leader in horrendous circumstances, and deserves so much better than the way he is currently being treated/smeared.
Joe Rogan argues Ukraine is trying to start WW3, tells Zelensky “fuck you”
Russia has been bombing Ukraine for 1003 days in a row. Where was this energy @joerogan when Putin bombed Kyiv’s main children’s cancer hospital? Just massacre after massacre of Ukrainian innocents but Ukraine is never allowed to respond and if they do respond they are accused of wanting WW3.
Putin gets to rape and kill with impunity and somehow this is never escalation
He can bring in North Korean soldiers to invade a European country and somehow this is not an escalation
Dad, on what would be your 73rd birthday, I remember you for all the hope and joy you brought to the world. There's not a week that goes by without someone sharing with me how you helped them through a dark time or a rough patch. I'm so grateful to be your son. Love you forever.
Russia's aggression against our people does not stop for a single day. It is vital for us to strengthen our air defense with modern air defense systems and aviation. And I am grateful to our partners who are helping us with this. This is a just response to the Russian terror.
Today, the Russians struck at the Poltava region. There are victims, including children. Everyone is being provided with the necessary assistance. I am grateful to all the services working on the scene.
We are doing everything to provide more protection for our people and to make the aggressor feel the price of his terror!
Veteran, "You're the saviour of the people"
Zelenskyy, "No, you saved Europe"
Vladimir Putin wasn't there
Keir Starmer met Zlenskyy but Rishi Sunak had left
Ukraine needs a stronger air shield to cover people and land from Russia’s deadly missiles. Help us protect our future. Raise your voice to provide Ukraine with the Patriot air defense systems.

This week’s Nato summit in Vilnius must atone for decades of fatal ambiguity – and offer a clear path for Ukraine’s membership of the North Atlantic Alliance.
It is ridiculous to say that Ukraine’s Nato membership could somehow “provoke” Putin. It is absurd to talk about the risk of “escalation”.
Putin didn’t launch the bloodiest war in Europe for 80 years because he feared that Ukraine was about to join Nato. Everybody could see that was nonsense.
He attacked precisely because Ukraine was NOT a member, and unlikely to become one for the foreseeable future – and therefore had no valid western security guarantees.
Putin attacked Ukraine because for 30 years we in Nato have dithered and refused to be clear about Ukraine’s future.
The time for ambiguity is over. Our doublespeak has brought us nothing – and it has brought disaster for Ukraine.
The Ukrainians are fighting for freedom everywhere, and when they have won they will need the same protection as the east Europeans and the Baltic states.
The Ukrainians need the clarity and simplicity of Nato membership – and with that clarity will come peace and stability, for Russia as well as for Ukraine.
Every single argument against Ukraine’s Nato membership has been – or is being – demolished by events.
Every day the Ukrainians are showing greater skill in using Nato-compatible weaponry. No country has done more to show the bravery and efficiency of their armed forces.
It is no excuse to say that Ukraine is still territorially divided. So was Germany in 1955, when the then West Germany became a Nato member. The process must be begun.
By invading an entirely innocent country, without provocation, Putin has annihilated the last remaining objection to Ukraine’s Nato membership.
When he loses, as he must and will, we must ensure that neither he nor any future Kremlin ruler can embark on such insanity again.
The answer is full Nato membership for Ukraine. Let the Vilnius summit show the way.
@ParkinsWorld @eurosport @discoveryplusUK Ignorance defined. Look what happened to him during his childhood and you'll have second thoughts about this comment.
@iD_Mobile_UK it's been well over 24 hours and I still haven't received dispatch confirmation, can you please advise when my handset will be delivered (this is an upgrade order)? Thank you.
