An administration can say one thing to try and save face, but the truth rises.

People are at their breaking point, and of course, why wouldn’t they be? Aren’t we all exhausted? Haven’t we all had enough? So many things have brought us here to this moment, where for so many our country is unrecognizable. People are on edge. They are afraid. Life changes in a second. Renee Nicole Good’s family and friends know this truth. There is no going back, only forward.

My fellow citizens: keep your eyes on the truth. Don’t get confused by conflicting stories designed to confuse you. Keep your mind on the facts. Keep trying to rise above.
Keep trying to move humanity out of the darkness and into the light. It’s a new year. We all have to go forward, one step at a time, remembering those we have lost and loved, determined to make life better for those left behind. It’s our job not to give up or in, no matter the foe, be it our own government, be it cancer, be it gun violence, be it a death of someone you love.

Heartbreak abounds, so does courage. Let’s keep rising. It is our only choice.

Adding your name to a memorial already named in honor of a great man doesn’t make you a great man. Quite the contrary. Putting your name on top of someone else’s doesn’t mean that people will speak of you in the same breath as the other man. Putting your name above another man’s name on his existing memorial… What is that about? Truly? What’s that about? Do you want people to speak the names as one? Dig down deep. What are you trying to say? I’m really interested. There is no other president who would do this. None. Zero. In fact, it’s not even legal. Congress named the performing arts center as a living memorial in 1964, and only congress can change that law.

This will always be the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Art. A great man would have said to his hand picked board, “Thank you, but the building already has its name. Let it stand. Let it be. I don’t need that.” But then again…

The Kennedy Center is a living memorial to a fallen president and named for President Kennedy by federal law. It can no sooner be renamed than can someone rename the Lincoln Memorial, no matter what anyone says.

This Washington Women's Soccer story is incredible.

They are now in the elite 8 after pulling off the win over 1 seed Virginia.

In April of this year, their star goal keeper was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer and passed away just a few weeks ago.

This was supposed to be her senior year, leading her team to the farthest heights Washington Soccer has reached.

It's been incredible to see this run, that is no doubt fueled by passion and love for their teammate Mia.
