In celebration of the 153rd birth anniversary of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of the Republic of the Philippines, Malacañang declared March 22 a special non-working holiday in the province of Cavite to allow Caviteños to celebrate this occasion.

Per Proclamation No. 1236, February 25, 2022, is declared a special (non-working) holiday in commemoration of the 36th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

Let us acknowledge this day in reminding us of what exactly happened 36 years ago, over a million Filipinos participated in demonstrations in EDSA which led to the former president Ferdinand Marcos’ departure and the end of his 20-year presidency.
