@GregJohnson_PhD Semi-randomly scrolling, saw this tweet, and was pretty dang excited to realize that the background image is one I made for my own blog. Very glad to see the pic wasn't just shouted into the void. :)
@asthartemoon I don't think area under the curve is enough information. You could have a sine wave and a saw wave with the same area under the curve, but the saw wave might be more irritating due to its harmonic content.
@asthartemoon In any case, a short theory is that humans generally like it when the area under the curve varies significantly over "human" timescales. A constant blast of energy starts to be interpreted as noise. Effect varies per person, of course.
@keeponbluezen It might be the speed of light through pudding, which is delicious. (The pudding, not the light. Depending on the flavor. Of the pudding.)
