10 months ago I was in the parking lot of the veterinary cardiologist crying tears of sadness. My Boxer, Daisy, had been diagnosed w/serious heart disease at just 3 years old.

Today I cried there again, but out of joy. Defying all odds, she is CURED. Normal ♥️ size/function! 🥲

I’m feeling very triumphant tonight. 😎👨‍🍳 Just made (and devoured) this 5-day cold ferment NY-style cheese pizza in my Ooni oven. The bake was on point — it even had a nice subtle crunch in the crust, which I feel like is the first time I’ve ever achieved that. Yum!

@_runescimitar I hear ya. Someone posted a clip of it on my timeline today in tribute to Sam and I stopped and watched the whole thing and it still got me: the performances, the visual effects, the John Williams soundtrack – I agree it is virtually unrivaled in terms of "movie magic."

@wookiedawg I'm not sure anyone would argue with you on that. Obviously special effects existed prior to this (T2 was a couple years prior to this of course), but I'd 100% agree with you.

Heck, even JP's own sequels haven't done a great job of handling the balance of CG vs practical effects

I saw Jackass: Best and Last over the weekend and it really did feel like the end of an era. To Jackass itself, certainly, but also, there aren't a lot of links to the '90s/early 2000s comedies that I grew up with left anymore.

I laughed a TON, though, as expected.
