The same Mamdani who ran on taxing the rich is now demanding a 20% salary increase for himself and fellow New York City officials.
This is exactly what communists do.
Who gave the media permission to decide which crime details Canadians are allowed to know?
When information that affects public safety gets sanitized, that is not responsible reporting. That is narrative control.
Families have a right to know what is happening in their communities so they can make decisions for their own safety.
The media’s job is to report the truth, not manage how the public reacts to it.
Steely Dan 🎩🪄 Doctor Wu
From the 1975 album Katy Lied.
One of Donald Fagen & Walter Becker's finest compositions, blending haunting lyrics, unforgettable melodies, and Phil Woods' brilliant sax solo into a true masterpiece 🎷🎷🎷

Scrap the residence for the Leader of the Opposition?
What’s next, scrap the Opposition?
Stornoway is not a personal perk. It belongs to the office, because in a serious democracy the Opposition is not an inconvenience. It is part of Parliament.
A 40-year-old man who previously worked at Edmonton city hall and ran unsuccessfully for city council in 2017 has been arrested and charged as part of an international child exploitation investigation.
Rocco Caterina, son of former Edmonton councillor Tony Caterina, was arrested at a Stony Plain home on May 27 by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams’ Internet Child Exploitation unit.
Caterina is one of 28 suspects across 14 countries charged following Operation Torch, an investigation led by Norway’s National Criminal Investigation Service. Investigators allege those charged used cryptocurrency to pay for access to dark web forums containing material depicting child sexual abuse.
Caterina has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 15.

In the name of patriotism or nationalism or whatever, Air Canada has hired a foreign national as CEO -- after pushing out a Candian-born CEO.
Simply because the Canadian's French wasn't good enough.
Good morning all & OTD in 1900, Queen Victoria assented to the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act, which, in law, created the Australian federal union & gave effect to a Constitution that on 01 Jan 1901 'constituted' the Commonwealth of Australia. So far, so good👑 🇦🇺 🏛️

Just days after Carney announced Germany won the bid for Canada's new submarines, South Korean shipbuilders have pulled out of a Hamilton partnership.
This is a huge blow to the Hamilton shipbuilding sector. How much more investment does Carney have to drive out of Canada for something to change?
Air Canada names Anko Van der Werff as next CEO 👀
Wait, they FIRED the last one because he didn’t speak French, but now they’re hiring a Dutch national, no Canadian citizenship, with only BASIC level of French, for Air CANADA!?
ELBOWS UP 😅
Heartbreaking tragedy in New Brunswick today. Two PEI paramedics and their patient — heroes who rushed to save lives every day — killed in a head on crash with a transport truck near the Confederation Bridge.
I know the investigation isn’t complete yet, but I can’t help but feel like I’m detecting a bad pattern.
Why won’t they release the truck driver’s name? What are they hiding? Truck drivers used to be skilled professionals. Lately competence behind those rigs has collapsed & innocent people keep paying the price.
We owe it to these heroes and their loved ones to demand better.
I've been doing my rounds on Quebec social media platforms, talking about the 2 recent pipeline announcements in Alberta.
Quebecers are pissed. They feel betrayed by Carney. They are totally against hydrocarbons, still feel that man-made climate change is real, and believe that they're the ones subsidizing Alberta's oil industry to the tune of billions.
The fact that Carney is willing to temporarily sacrifice the support of his base out east shows just how seriously he's taking the threat of Alberta independence.
He's hoping the promised pipelines are enough to secure a "No" vote in the upcoming referendum. After that he'll go back to Quebec, and beg for forgiveness.
"I had to make empty promisses, to save the country, and ensure you continued to receive your equalization payments".
