I don’t like the way the Burnham-Kuenssberg interview is being played out with the release of clips. The first broadcast with a new PM should be a big moment: on the main BBC channels in full as soon as possible. Not a 4-day-old recording in which we already know the newslines.
There are lives that shape a nation, and there are lives whose meaning transcends the boundaries of nation, time and place.
Today, I signed the Book of Condolence in honour of The Right Excellent Sir Garfield St Aubrun Sobers, NH, OCC. I did so with a profound sense of gratitude for this remarkable son of Barbados, whose incomparable talent, quiet humility and strength of character inspired generations at home, across our Caribbean civilisation and throughout the world.
Nearly sixty years ago, C.L.R. James understood what history has long since confirmed. In placing Sir Garry among the giants of civilisation, he wrote simply: “I refer, of course, to Garfield Sobers.” Those words still capture the measure of the man.
Sir Garry’s life remains an enduring reminder that greatness is never determined by the size of the place from which we come, but by the reach of our contribution to humanity. Barbados will forever be proud that he was born of this soil, shaped by this nation and shared with the world.
A lobbying firm wanted to pay me to write articles critical of the Building Safety Regulator for newspapers. We filmed them undercover, admitting to secretly paying reporters for copy in British newspapers friendly to their clients:

Just a reminder why a duty of candour matters
This political positioning after the Grenfell fire helped set the conditions for the failure to tackle the cladding crisis, because it stopped the govt taking any responsibility

I'm sorry, but wtf, Sight and Sound. Name these names. All hiding behind masks? Or perhaps the claim is a dream. Because despite the talented people who made Eyes Wide Shut, it is an irredeemably terrible film.
Respected Guardian crime correspondent Duncan Campbell has died aged 80. Editor Katharine Viner said: "Duncan was one of the great Guardian journalists, beloved of the newsroom" and described his work as "courageous and groundbreaking" https://t.co/qQApPbZgj1
“Yippee ki-yay…”
We are excited to tell everyone that Westminster Council decided on May 1st that the Prince Charles Cinema would be included in the list of Assets of Community Value maintained by the Council under section 87 of the Localism Act 2011.
Incredibly sad news to hear that Alex Wheatle has died. He was a giant among writers and an inspiration for Black screen writers everywhere.
His presence already missed.

-Giving a precise location, including nearby street names, landmarks and park entrances.
Your detailed alert can change someone’s life.
Today marks three years since work began to finally dismantle the notorious Marble Arch Mound.
A fiasco so outrageous that white elephants sued whenever their name was invoked in relation to it.
@CommunityFibre You customer service is really poor ! No answer when calling , your live chat is utterly useless and none of your other contact services are in anyway responding . What is going on ?
