@WalkerWizardsPJ Another "why" -- AI requires a massive amount of energy that comes from the burning fossil fuels -- at a time when future of life on earth requires that we use LESS not more fossil fues. AI should only be for essential activities. Writing a students' essay is not on that list.
In 1906, four men tried to build an upscale Black suburb near DC. White residents & developers shut it down before they could even fully start.
On Saturday, a historical marker honoring Belmont was unveiled — and their descendants were in attendance

George Carlin: "Smug, greedy, well-fed white people have invented a language to conceal their sins. Israeli murderers are called commandos. Arab commandos are called terrorists."
@JoeMightLikeTV Agreed. Reservation Dogs not winning is a reflection on the Emmy's, not the show itself. It was extraodinary in every way: script, casting, and acting -- and it filled a major gap in the industry with artistic creativity and depth. Entertaining, educational, heartwarming, + more.
@JMitchellNews Hmmm. As far as I know, schools in Washington, D.C. did NOT comply with Brown v. Board in '54. At least, not all of them.
I was born in '56 and attended public schools in DC.
They did not begin desegregation until I was in junior high -- many years after '54.
@mdawriter Right.
It is free PR for the right, not journalism. They repeat all sorts of phrases and terms with no evidence they are true (and plenty of evidence to the contrary): "pro-life" | "weapons of mass destruction" | "Israel's war on Hamas" | . . .

You're hearing a lot about Tim Walz and free school lunches. You're not hearing enough about the behind-the-scenes role of Philando Castile's mom in getting that bill passed. https://t.co/6h1RG4rOJ7
No, they don’t want Trump to win. They want their families to stop being murdered, @vp.
You can call for an arms embargo, you can call for sanctions on the heinous war crimes we see daily.
The idea that Harris would undermine all the momentum she’s built up with younger, progressive, non-white voters, by picking the guy who compared antiwar students to the KKK & volunteered on an Israeli military base, while Walz, Beshear & Prizker are right there, is insane to me
Check out the wonderful interview with our colleague @debreese on @NPRCodeSwitch.
She talks about impact of book bans on titles by Native American authors. Just as hard won representation was increasing -- the book bans are taking it away.
