Chemoresistant OVCA cells produce large amounts of plasma gelsolin (pGSN) that induces increased production of small extracellular vesicles as a means of exporting cisplatin from the cell. This helps to prevent cisplatin-induced apoptosis in chemoresistant cells.

The Application of an Extracellular Vesicle-Based Biosensor in Early Diagnosis and Prediction of Chemoresponsiveness in Ovarian Cancer https://t.co/5b6fjZRFyc #mdpicancers via @Cancers_MDPI
We have developed a nanosensor platform that reacts with extracellular vesicles and cisplatin as well as predicts early-stage cancers and chemoresistance.
Check out our recent publication on PCOS. We discovered that increased exosomal miR-379-5p release in granulosa cells is a proliferative response to androgenic stimulation in human PCOS.
