There’s going to be two schools of thought here…

A. The shotgun shell is in fact empty and only a primer. Do not hit the primer because you may cause it to flash…which would burn your hand causing you to drop the 60mm mortar and cause it to function as designed (assuming its point detonating fuze which most are)

B. Worst case scenario…the shotgun shell is INTACT…in which case you guys have biggest nuts or the smallest brains on the planet!
