Teller: “Sir, you have $7,200 available.”
Customer: “That’s not right.”
Teller: “What do you mean?”
Customer: “I deposited $10,000 this morning. I should have more than that.”
The teller checked the account again.
Teller: “There’s a $2,800 withdrawal.”
Customer: “I didn’t withdraw $2,800.”
Teller: “It was made at an ATM.”
Customer: “I haven’t used an ATM in three days.”
The teller looked at the screen.
Teller: “Was your card ever out of your possession?”
Customer: “No.”
Teller: “Did anyone know your PIN?”
Customer: “My wife.”
The teller paused.
Customer: “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Teller: “Because the withdrawal happened at an ATM less than a mile from your house.”
He immediately called his wife.
Husband: “Did you take money from the account?”
