College Football Rivalry Weekend '24 summed up. When you win, you don't need to talk. When you lose, you don't deserve to talk. Too many poor examples of post-game sportsmanship clouded the action on the field. I have no solution or advice other than "do better".

In the Rutgers beat down it was obvious that many on the field did not want to compete. I have faith in Jonathon Smith. I hope there is more fire behind the scenes than was evident on game day.

Aidan Chiles with some refreshing transparency yesterday that goes along with the whispers we’ve heard behind-the-scenes this month:

“Once we figure out the guys who want to be here, we’ll play how we’re supposed to play… I think there are a lot of attitudes & egos in the locker room. I think all the guys want to win, but their attitudes aren’t in the right place. You either want to be here or you don’t.”

I’d expect a decent amount of attrition next month as the staff continues to adjust the culture for the long run. A hard reset.

That - and redzone execution - were the team’s two main weaknesses this year imo.
