I just wanted to note the female in the room watching the strategic strike last night was Susie Wiles, and she wasn’t a female there for a media event. She’s the Chief of Staff that we almost never see, because she’s performing her duties for President Trump as Chief of Staff.
As chief of staff, she serves as the president’s confidant, helping to execute an agenda and balancing competing political and policy priorities. She also tends to serve as a gatekeeper, helping determine where the president spends his time and to whom he speaks; an effort under which Trump chafed inside the White House.
Joining up with Trump’s third campaign in its nascent days, Wiles is one of the few top officials to survive an entire Trump campaign and was part of the team that put together a far more professional operation for his third White House bid; even if the former president routinely broke through those guardrails anyway.
She largely avoided the spotlight, even refusing to take the mic to speak even when Trump celebrated his victory.
But she showed she was not above taking on tasks reserved for volunteers. At one of Trump’s appearances in Iowa in July of last year, as the former president posed for pictures with a long line of voters, Wiles grabbed a clipboard and started approaching people waiting to get them to fill out cards committing to caucus for Trump in the leadoff primary contest. Susie is the perfect example of a person that gains satisfaction just for doing a great job.

As a boy growing up on a farm near Baxley, Georgia, I was fascinated by the “Big Three” ocean liners sailing from New York to Europe: the SS United States, the SS France, and the RMS Queen Elizabeth. The SS United States, now sadly being pulled to Mobile, Alabama, to be prepped for its fate as an artificial reef. I never realized my boyhood dream of sailing across the Atlantic on all the “Big Three.” Later, as a student in my 20s, for three different years, I crossed the Atlantic on the US United States twice, and on the SS France, nicknamed the Versailles of the Ocean, once. Warm memories of those 15 days.

The LA Fires ---

My family, friends, and thousands of students and adults on my tours, some who later became friends, in the LA fire area have survived but lost so much. This morning, Chris and Benji shared a video on YouTube of their walk in to see the physical remains of their home.

Collectively, they have 570,000+ subscribers on their YouTube channels. generating income from clicks. If you want to help, subscribe to their book and plant chanels and occasionally look at what Benji is doing with plants and Chris conversations about books.

They set up two GoFundMe page to raise $20,000 to help them get back on their feet and another to raise $60,000 to help their neighbors who do not have a significant social media footprint.
