@auburnhistorys1 We don't have to own a slave or even have to see an African slave to feel the pain they felt back then. Imagine not being able freely do anything you want. The indirect impact we had on slavery is enough for me to feel bad for what my possible ancestors did.
Slavery in the United States can never be forgotten or forgiven but I believe that it should be recognized as one of the worst disasters that has ever come to America. I want to know what they were thinking letting human beings work themselves to death for their own personal gain
I've learned many things from this article but it emphasizes that the University of Chicago was built by "blood money" from the blood, sweat, and tears of the slaves. #AuburnWorldHistory
The fact that the University of Chicago won't acknowledge that the 3,000 acre plantation made the University is why people can't get past slavery today. Slavery was apart of our country and even a University can't show the recognition the slaves deserve. #AuburnWorldHistory
I've noticed that we are constantly seeking perfection whether it be in politics or economy, morals or ethics. Is there ever going to be a point where we reach that perfection? #auburnworldhistory
“The entire nation erupted at once... to battle injustice, corruption, poverty, ignorance, all that we endured over the past 30 years... I swore to god I wouldn’t leave the square until our demands were met.”

The regime leaders speech starts off as passionate towards the youth of their country saying “I speak to all of you from the heart, like a father to his sons and daughters” but changes his tone to hatred towards the youth saying they hope they suffer first.

Kids living in America today in 5th grade wouldn’t be able to take care of themselves and start to work at the age of 8. This is unreal for me to think about. He sold lemons on the side of the road just so he could get an education

“Take capital where the low-wage labor forces were. But for globalization to work you has to reduce tariffs and empower finance capital, because finance capital is the most mobile form of capital. So finance capital, and floating currencies were critical to curbing labor”. #AWH
“So in that situation there was, in effect, a global threat to the power of the corporate capitalist class and therefore the question was, “what to do?” #AuburnWorldHistory
I like how they try to add some unfortunate events in the film to make the viewers feel comfortable. The shooting of the coke machine and the 2 men arguing hilariously the entire time over change for a phone call.

It’s a little scary that communication in moments that happened in the movie go out so easily without any backup communications. Plus the Air Force pilots only know to stick to the mission rather than backing out or asking questions if it is still a go.

So the US is the only country to have ever used an atomic bomb. When I learned this my first feeling was relief. But the feeling that resonates with me, now, is unsettled. I feel disappointed and angry but I also kind of feel safe. #auburnworldhistory
I think the atomic bomb came before it’s time. I believe that if it was to come out in the early 2000s then we would know way more about the impact of it on everything. We would have realized sooner that there are many other options to have turned too.

“Im not a young woman now, friends. My life is behind me. There is not to much fire burning inside me. And before it goes out, I want you to use what is left to light that fire in you. So that you can carry on, and so you can do those things that I have done”

When telling this she shows the truth of how different her life is in a not as harsh of a country towards her color. Why couldn’t the United States get past their differences and be more like France in that time period?”
I could go into any restaurant I wanted to, and I could drink water anyplace I wanted to, and I didn’t have to go to a colored toilet either, and I have to tell you, it was nice and I I got used to it, and I liked it, and I wasn’t afraid anymore...”
