@benzgreenfield I’m glad that you believe that money allows people to spout abhorrent theologies that are antithetical to our existence as Jews. Personally being a person’s pawn in an apocalyptic end game gives me pause. Not to mention that he is explicitly homophobic and islamophobic.
@benzgreenfield When the leader of Christians United for Israel (who is speaking at this rally) says Hitler was sent by God to get the Jews to Israel, I’m going to be a little sus of Christian zionists.
Reminder: There are some important holidays coming up!

I find the use of “shalom” by non-Jews, especially in theological discourse, pretty darned annoying. It’s appropriation, it’s gesturing toward “Judeo-Christian” nonsense, it’s (usually) anachronistic, and like y’all don’t have your own words?
With a heavy heart, I’ve decided to apply for my terminal masters and leave academia for the time being. I’m very grateful for my wonderful advisors and peers that I’ve gotten to work with along the way. (1/3)
I am working as the BC Hillel Advisor, a role that allows me to work with and advise undergraduates as well as take classes at Hebrew College. While rabbinic school might be down the line, I’ve been a full time student for the past 21 years and I’m excited to take a break!
However, I’ve realized that the PhD program, especially during a global pandemic, was simply not a healthy place for me anymore. I’ve truly enjoyed taking classes and serving as a TA, but I’ve realized I can pursue these passions outside of academia. (2/3)
