This morning, I joined the people of West Nile and the entire nation to mourn Gen. Moses Ali , and laid a wreath on his coffin at Parliament. He made an important contribution to Uganda’s history. He rejected the brutality of Idi Amin’s regime, worked with us in the struggle for freedom, promoted peace and remained committed to the development of West Nile.
Gen. Ali understood that peace and development go together. I therefore appeal to the leaders in West Nile and the whole country that they should continue working hard to raise household incomes and achieve prosperity. I thank him for his service to Uganda and pray that his soul rests in eternal peace.

The Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU) recently carried out a rapid assessment of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in selected districts across various sub-regions.
It evaluated implementation progress and challenges across the seven pillars of the programme:
~Agricultural value chain development
~Infrastructure and economic services
~Financial inclusion
~Social services
~Mindset change
~Parish Development Management Information System
~Governance and administration
The assessment shows that, while there’s progress across all the pillars, there are also challenges.
The PMDU has now presented its report to an inter-ministerial group, outlining key achievements, challenges and recommendations for strengthening the implementation of the PDM programme.

Finally, These roads have needed upgrades for years.
Shorter travel time from Nansana to town will help so many Ugandans.

This afternoon, the Head of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit, @KasuleSebunya, returned to the Industrial Area to assess progress on the ongoing road reconstruction works, which he last inspected in March.
Due to soft ground conditions in the Industrial Area, the Government is replacing tarmac with concrete on 6th and 7th Streets.
Mr. Sebunya was pleased to note that 6th Street is complete and open to the public, while works on 7th Street are progressing well. He also inspected reconstruction works on 5th and 8th Streets.
We presented our Ministerial Policy Statement for 2026/2027 financial year before the Presidential Affairs Committee in @Parliament_Ug earlier today.

The Office of the Prime Minister (@OPMUganda) anticipates that they will host another 27,000 refugees in the 2026/2027 financial year.
Assistant Commissioner Apollo Kivumbi told Members of Parliament on the Committee on Presidential Affairs that the refugees will be hosted under the second phase of the Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project.
He added that the project is largely funded by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) at an estimated value of US$328 million.
He said that the funds will be utilised by host districts for socio-economic services, infrastructure development and economic opportunities, among others.
However, Adjumani East Member of Parliament, Hon. James Mamawi said the funds should instead be channelled towards improving the livelihoods of the already existing refugees.
Uganda is currently hosting over two million refugees and remains a key host country for people fleeing instability in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan.
