The Tsunami WATCH previously for in place for all of Samoa is now cancelled.
We advise the public to remain calm and proceed with caution as you return to your homes.
A tsunami WATCH is in effect for all Samoan low-lying areas.
All people on low lying coastal areas are advised to stay away from beach areas and for the public to refrain from visiting coastal areas until a cancellation has been issued.

World Tsunami Awareness Day is celebrated on the 05 November of every year. A campaign has been launched by the @UNDRR to utilize the hashtags #GetToHighGround and #EarlyWarningForAll to create awareness on response actions to tsunamis.
Samoa will participate in the World Tsunami Awareness Day with the implementation of its activities under the PACWAVE22 framework. A program set to test the operational capacity of early warning systems for seismic events.
Proud Pacific Islander, Simione, is a Fijian national deployed through @AustAssists to @DMO_Samoa. This Disaster Risk Management Specialist is using his expertise in the region to support the NDMO and National Emergency Operations Centre to build Samoa's resilience to disasters.
